Senate inquiry into EPBC Act -

The ability of federal laws to protect Australia’s natural environment from ongoing destruction has come under the spotlight with a Senate inquiry into the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act, which I referred.

Affordable Housing -

Australia is facing a housing affordability crisis. We are identified as one of the least affordable housing markets in the world with Perth, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide all in the top 20 least affordable cities. Almost 1.2 million Australian households are in “housing stress” and over 400,000 are in “extreme housing stress”.

Saying Sorry -

The stolen generation’s saga affects every corner of this country. It affects the Aboriginal people all around the country. We must move beyond the period of apology, to reparations as yet to be determined.

This is bad for farmers and bad for our food.

Marine -

Australia is responsible for a vast area of the marine environment, but it receives much less attention than terrestrial conservation and management. Marine protected areas, sustainable fisheries, illegal fishing, deep sea trawling and shark fishing are campaign priorities.

Industrial Relations - The Greens stand up for working families

John Howard abused his Senate majority to push through sweeping changes to Industrial Relations laws that dramatically reduce the rights and conditions of Australian workers... we need to rectify that decision.

Poverty in Australia -

Poverty is a symptom of a sick society and inequality leads to lower life expectancy and higher rates of chronic disease, distrust, crime and violence for all. The Greens are calling for a National Anti-Poverty Strategy to increase support, training and opportunities for our disadvantaged …

Stop Whaling -

Over half the world's cetacean species are found in the southern oceans. Australia has long been a leading supporter of conservation of whale species, some of which were hunted to the brink of extinction in the 19th and 20th centuries. We can't allow the hunt to continue.

Caring for Carers -
